The late Rolls Gracie training with Rickson Gracie.

Very rare footage. The legend of Rolls is so nuts that it almost seems mythological. I always thought the stories of him tooling Rickson were exaggerated. But this video confirms the legend. This is piece of history right here. It really breaks my heart that Rolls died so young. He was the greatest of his time and could’ve been the greatest of all time.

RIP Rolls.

This is from the new (seven years in the making) documentary called “the gracies and the birth of vale tudo.” It’s very good and definitely worth watching but very biased and not 100% accurate. The main value of it is the rare footage like this that they found.

Here’s the notorious Pavel Tsatsouline’s “Enter The Kettelbell.” A great and at times funny overview of the basic KB exercises. I haven’t done many things in my life other than long sparring sessions that are as exhausting and morally depleting as KB training. I think that’s why I like training with the kettlebell so much. Watch then video and learn how to properly throw the bell around so you don’t get hurt.

Also, I’ve noticed when I talk to people about KB training they tell me they would like to start but the bells are so expensive. Yes and no, if you’re buying online, yes the shipping will most likely be more costly than the bell itself, but, they last FOREVER! You can pass them down to your children. There’s no moving parts or fancy gimmicks on them to break down, just an iron bowling ball with a handle. You can say that about a Bowflex, kettlebells are a great investment into becoming more manly.

Today i want to talk about a new Bjj brand hailing from Detroit Michagen and making some buzz for themselves threw the master mind artist that is Meerkatsu himself. Modern Flow Brand is an upstart gear company that means to show the union of modern style jiujitsu and the jiujitsu that so many of the old school players still teach to this day the brand has put out some really sick products one of my new favs right now that i want is the “Ranger”. The Ranger is Modern Flows first gi and it is an impressive peice of work a 525 gram pearl weave top thick EVA foam collar 10oz durable drill cotton pants with reinforced stitching on the stress points and is made legal in everyway for competing brown contrast stitching and brown and green embroidered logos. The other very kool thing Morden Flow puts out are there patches which are created by Meerkatsu himself the theme of the brand is as with jiujitsu the game of chess, morden flow keeps that in mind and incorparted that with the rank system of bjj and the chess peices i love the idea of this and it looks even better there are more products from them that would appel to the avide gearjunkie and its worth taking a look at and supporting, the one thing i love about bjj brands like this one is that its still in its rawest form in some ways and as a new costumer they have room for feedback and suggstions and they love to hear that i will be making orders soon so that i will be ready for the tourenment season i urge you to take a look at Morden Flow Brand and support some good pepole that want to give back to our ever growing community
